If Kim had a bad night in North Korea, the whole world knows it the day after. The North Korea specialists carefully feel the pulse of the head of the Democratic People’s Republic: Should there be a little bit more attention given? Because the North Koreans are in possession of the bomb out of which the destruction comes. The country on the edge of the great China has 25.5 million inhabitants, but is always the focus of world interest. And it doesn’t let itself be pushed around.
Iran, with its more than 80 million inhabitants, is deliberately and often dangerously jostled. Just recently the USA killed an Iranian top politician. Whoever acts or talks with the Iranians is also threatened: The heavily armed USA has once again threatened the Western Europeans with sanctions, in order for them to follow the example of the USA to also cancel the nuclear agreement with Iran. Now Germany, France and Great Britain are to initiate the “conciliation procedure” of the agreement. Otherwise there would be punitive duties on EU cars. This was leaked from a secret meeting of the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee. At the end of the arbitration procedure, the USA, which has violated the treaty, wants to see the end of the nuclear agreement.
It was the strange German Foreign Minister who radiantly announced the near end of the nuclear agreement: “We could no longer leave the increasing Iranian violations of the nuclear agreement unanswered”, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced on Tuesday. “After intensive consultations with France and Great Britain, we therefore decided to trigger the dispute settlement mechanism provided for in the agreement.” Not one word about the USA, unilaterally terminating the agreement. Not a word about the US mafia threats. Maas serves the Germans the opinion of Donald Trump and presents it as his own.
Nine states are considered to be nuclear powers. One of them is the United Kingdom. At its head is the confused Alexander Boris Johnson, who led his election campaign with this sentence, among others: “Voting Tory will cause your wife to have bigger breasts and increase your chances of owning a BMW M3.” At the head of Israel, another nuclear power, sparkles Benjamin Netanyahu. He lives comfortably with a charge of corruption and represents the ordinary racism of an apartheid state. In view of these two nuclear bomb administrators, Kim Jong-un, the head of government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, can be considered relatively serious and predictable.
The Iranian nuclear agreement was intended to prevent Iran from building the bomb. What good has it done to the country? Has its sovereignty grown? Is it safe from aggression? Has it improved its trade relations? No. Why should Iran stick to an agreement that its Western partners obviously no longer want? The mediation process is paving the way for Iran to the bomb. Perhaps Ali Khamenei, the “Supreme Leader” of Iran, would like to get his finger on the pulse. However, his chances of doing so are slim as long as he has this attitude: “We are not planning nuclear weapons, not because of the unease of the US, but because we are convinced that nuclear weapons are a crime against humanity.”
The number of US crimes against humanity is significant. From all kinds of war crimes in countries like Vietnam or Iraq, to the concentration camp in Guantanamo or the lynching by drones. This list will be expanded to include nuclear proliferation if the Trump administration continues to operate in this way.
