Düsseldorf 25.04.2021. The federal board of the political party dieBasis North Rhine-Westphalia supports the artists of the protest action #allesdichtmachen. The ironic-satirical short video clips deal with the Corona measures, which have been going on for more than a year. Media, politics and colleagues reacted partly with incomprehension.
Extract from the press release:
With short videos, a group of around 50 actors, including Jan Josef Liefers, Martin Brambach, Richy Müller and many others, have drawn attention ironically, sometimes sarcastically, to grievances and absurdities during the Corona crisis. As a result, the artists were accused in the media and by colleagues of having entered into an alliance with right-wing radicals and lateral thinkers (Querdenker), with AfD politicians and conspiracy theorists.
Sandra Froehlingsdorf, chairwoman of the North Rhine-Westphalia federal board of dieBasis, disagrees and calls for an opening of the debating space as well as an unbiased exchange with the artists. “The actors have justified existential fears. Only a small part is prominent and economically secured. Many have not had an engagement for a year. There is no prospect of any change in the near future“
